The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc is another stunner from what we know and appreciate as a perfect vineyard for this varietal. Enjoy the exotic floral notes of jasmine and honeysuckle complimented with ripe notes of tangerine and citrus zest. The palate, as always, offers copious amounts of rich fruit and beautiful texture that, while crisp and varietal, is a pleasure to drink.
Heady floral aromas of jasmine and citrus blossom introduce the fruity expressions of lime, white peach and dry pineapple. Slight components of wet stone minerality and a rich palate are followed with a velvet and luscious lingering finish.
It is always interesting to see what will be achieved in the second offering of a new wine on the heels of a very successful first harvest. If you were lucky enough to enjoy the 2007, you will most definitely appreciate the 2008 as a worthy sibling. Dark in color and expressive from start to finish, it appears that the 2008 has just a touch more fruit to offer as well as highlights of fresh tea leaves and floral notes. The abundant palate is soft and rich with notes of dark fruit, vanilla and spice.
Violets and fresh berries are the core aromas of the 2006 offering. With a background of black currant, spice, and sweet oak, the nose carries through to the palate with a soft entry and smooth tannins that provide a rich mouthfeel. Finishing as elegantly as it starts, this wine is a pleasure to enjoy now, and will do nicely with time in the cellar as well.
